Student Community

From the moment you enrol, the team is here to support you. Your first point of contact is the Escape Hub on campus, and there are plenty of studio assistants out and about, ready to provide any tech or study support.

What we do:

  • Help you 'work hard, play hard' by organising fun events
  • Let students know the latest through social media and monthly newsletters
  • Manage our famous selection of merch exclusively available to our students and Escapees
  • Support the Escape Student Association (ESA) to organise and run societies.

Events and get-togethers

As there is so much more to life than studying, we have an array of events from bus parties to the unique annual welcome week for new students.

Our diverse events underpin the creative identity of Escape, catering for the specific interests of our students. There will always be a niche you can relate to. Our events include:

Escape Student Association (ESA)

The ESA is run by students, for students and is a major part of student life here.

With an active presence on Discord, the ESA helps maintain our strong community, making sure there's something for everyone. Whether you want to experience new things, make friends or just try something new.

Recent societies include: Anime, Badminton, E-Sports, Dance, Drawing Club, Football, Rock Climbing, Skate, Tabletop Gaming, LGBTQ+.

None of these screaming you? We can help you start your own society!

Studio Assistants

Our brilliant Studio Assistants are an invaluable part of the team. They are around to make sure you're on the right track.

As Escapees, our Studio Assistants have experienced it all, making them the perfect people to help and understand every step of your course.

Studio Assistants are assigned to undergraduate classes over 17 students and postgraduate classes over 6 students to offer extra support to the tutor and students. They are on hand during studio class time, providing support with software questions, work feedback, shot/portfolio advice and problem solving. Studio Assistants tend to sit at the back of the class, watching out for any students who might be struggling, or have a problem that needs solving.
