Escape Student Societies

Outside of the classroom, our student-run societies are a great way to connect with like-minded people.

Supported by the Escape Student Association (ESA), you can get involved in anything from playing D&D at Tabletop Society, scaling heights at bouldering society or letting loose at Dance Society.

Student Community

From the moment you enrol, the team is here to support you. Your first point of contact is the Escape Hub on campus, and there are plenty of studio assistants out and about, ready to provide any tech or study support.

What we do:

Help you 'work hard, play hard' by organising fun events
Let students know the latest through social media and monthly newsletters
Manage our famous selection of merch exclusively available to our students and Escapees
Support the ESA, bringing the Escape community together through exciting events and societies.

EVENTS AND GET TOGETHERS

Our diverse events underpin the creative identity of Escape, catering for the specific interests of our students. There will always be a nice you can relate to. Our events include:

'An Evening With...'

'An Evening With' is an exclusive series of talks that run regularly through the academic year. We invite industry professionals from our industry partners and leading studios and companies to discuss their latest projects and share career insights and industry advice.

Recent 'An Evening With..' guests have included Philip Hunt and Marcus Armitage from Studio AKA, Neil Boyle, Director of Kensuke's Kingdom and Chris McGaw, Lead Animator at Framestore, who shared insights into the making of the latest How to Train your Dragon film.

Other guests have included multi-Oscar-winning Visual Effects Supervisor Paul Franklin and Industrial Light & Magic Supervisor Kiel Figgins.

Cinema Screenings

Hosted by the Student Community team, these exclusive cinema screenings give students the opportunity to enjoy private screenings at Cineworld in the O2, followed by behind-the-scenes talks with behind-the-scenes insights from people who worked on the films!

Recent screenings have included films from huge francises including How to Train Your Dragon, Garfield and Fantastic Four.

Studio Visits

Organised by our Talent Development Team, students get the chance to get an inside look at some of London's leading creative studios and companies, such as BlueBolt, Electric Theatre Collective (ETC) and DNEG London.

The End of Year Showcase

Our annual End of Year Showcase is where final-year students present their final projects on the big screen in front of staff and industry professionals. This year, the event was held at Vue Leicester Square.

Escapeverse Live

Formerly known as The VFX Festival, Escapeverse Live is our annual three-day online global festival celebrating animation, games, visual effects and tech.

With speakers from renowned studios and companies including Industrial Light & Magic, Creative Assembly, Access VFX, Goodbye Kansas and more, attendees from across the globe can enjoy exclusive industry insights, expert career advice and inspiring panel discussions.

Graduation

A special event where our final-year students celebrate the culmination of three years of hard work, creativity and achievement as they officially become Escapees.
